The 6-Month Bridal Skin Prep Roadmap
By Mountain Glo
Planning a wedding in the heart of the Rockies is a dream. Whether you're saying "I Do" overlooking the water at Sapphire Point, hosting a luxury reception in Vail or Beaver Creek, or planning a chic mountain-town celebration in Breckenridge, your backdrop is going to be spectacular.
But let's be real for a second: the high-altitude environment is tough on skin. Between the 9,000-ft UV intensity and the lack of humidity, the "mountain bride struggle" is real. To get that filter-free, radiant glow by your big day, you need more than just a last-minute facial. You need a roadmap.
At Mountain Glo, we specialize in prepping brides from Keystone to Copper for the spotlight. Here is your 6-month countdown to walking down the aisle with total confidence.
6 Months Out
The Consultation & "The Shed"
Now is the time to meet with your Mountain Glo esthetician to create a custom plan. If you have sun damage from years of skiing or hiking, we start with The Shed.
The Treatment: A series of VI Peels or IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) sessions.
The Goal: Erasing sunspots, redness, and acne scarring. Starting now gives us time to complete a "Series of 3" for maximum results.
4 Months Out
Resurfacing & Home Rituals
For our destination brides or those with busy schedules, 4 months out is about texture. We want your skin as smooth as glass for those high-definition wedding photos.
The Treatment: Microneedling or Microdermabrasion paired with a Dermaplaning Facial.
The Goal: Microneedling stimulates collagen for a plump, youthful look, while Dermaplaning removes "peach fuzz" so your makeup artist in Beaver Creek or Vail has a flawless canvas.
If you aren't local, this is when you commit to a medical-grade skincare routine — a high-quality Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C (we recommend Peak 10 Skin) to build your skin's moisture barrier.
3 Months Out
The "Set-it-and-Forget-it" Foundation
By now, you're knee-deep in seating charts. Let's take grooming off your plate.
The Treatment: Start your Lash Extension or Lash Lift journey.
The Goal: Finding the perfect lash weight and length. Doing a "trial run" now ensures your eyes look exactly how you want them in your Sapphire Point engagement photos.
2 Months Out
The Tox & Glow Refresh
If you're considering Tox, this is your "sweet spot" window.
The Treatment: A conservative "Tox" refresh and a Signature Hydrating Facial.
The Goal: Softening fine lines (like those "sun-squint" crinkles!) while keeping your expressions natural. You'll also want to start a medical-grade hydration routine with Peak 10 Skin to fight the dry mountain air.
1 Month Out
The Final Polish
This is the "maintenance" phase. No new aggressive treatments!
The Treatment: Final Lash Fill, a gentle Dermaplane, and your Wedding Makeup Trial.
The Goal: Removing "peach fuzz" so your makeup sits flawlessly and ensuring your lashes are full and fluffy.
The Appointment: Schedule your Full Body Waxing (Brazilian, legs, underarms) and your Brow/Lip wax. You want your skin perfectly smooth for the honeymoon — waxing now ensures your skin isn't sensitized on the actual wedding day.
The Week Of
The Midnight GLO
The family is in town, and you're heading to the Frisco Beach for a welcome party.
The Treatment: Mobile Custom Spray Tan, or pop into the bar in Breckenridge or Dillon.
Pro tip: book your tan 2 days before the wedding. It gives the color time to settle into a perfect, natural bronze that won't rub off on your white dress.
